In a nutshell: Vivid provided Sage with experienced Team Leaders and Brand Ambassadors to carry out a UK wide roadshow. The roadshow distributed goody boxes (provided by Vivid) and collected important data capture from key decision makers.
Sage has been providing simple and easy to use payroll software for over 30 yrs. In 2013 HMRC launched a new system called RTI (Real Time Information), this aimed to collect information from employees on a more regular basis to improve overall access, accuracy and efficiency. Sage immediately adapted their software so it would facilitate the changes proposed.
As a result Sage came to Vivid with an exciting challenge – they wished to target small businesses across 12 key areas using experiential marketing techniques, ad-vans and branded goods to:
Raise the profile of Sage.
Promote the introduction and launch of the new Sage RTI program, and software updates available to current Sage users.
Educate and inform small business of the new RTI system, enforced by the HMRC.
Make direct contact with the key finance person in each organisation.
Collect a database of key contacts, so the activity could be followed up by Sage
For each area Vivid employed a Team Leader and 3 x Brand Ambassadors. All were experienced, industry recommended and they had experience of using Sage. We armed the team with exclusive Sage goodie boxes and a list of locations to visit (local business parks) where they ultimately had to:
-gain access to the business and the finance manager
-give them a goodie box (branded stress ball, tea bag and brownie, a Sage white paper on RTI, 10% discount voucher).
-Engage and take their contact details, for follow-up communication from Sage.
In addition to this large branded Advans were deployed who followed the staff around the business parks. It was an extremely successful and a great way to reinforce the brand, gain trust and promote product on offer.
